My Neighbourhood

In the morning the neighbourhood opens its eyes,

It wriggles and wriggles like a garden worm.

In the night the neighbourhood hibernates,

hanging branches above its head.

 By Blain Noblett

The City

In the early morning the city rises from the night,

As its people wake from their sleep.

It’s noisy out there,

As people in their houses rush for school and work.

 Butcher's Love Song

Me and you should meat

because I love you so.

I want to boil you up and eat you for my dinner.

by David Richardson

 ------

Do you think I’m meat?

I’m in lobster with you.

I feel crabby about you.

You’re the real fin.

 By Stephen Duggan

Your carrots are orange,

Your heart is so green,

So go away and peach.

 By Adam Doyle

------

Do you pear at all about me?

With your lovely bread eyes

Please turnip for our date,

Your lips are like juicy strawberries.

Your eyes are like two round peaches.

 By Lee Keohan

 -------

Do your pear at all for me?

Your eyes are like big green apples

Your pear is so fair

Your lips are like juicy raspberries

Your red cheeks are like small tomatoes

You are my honey bunny

 By Philip Grimes
