A Days Hunting
It was the 22nd of December. It was freezing cold and it looked like rain. I slept in my Granddads house because we were going to Curraghmore to hunt. We drove to Portlaw at six o clock in the morning. The drive from the house to the gates of Curraghmore estate was about six miles in all.
Lord Waterford is a man who owns over two thousand five hundred acres of land and has a house worth one million euro! We were going to be beating through at least one or one and a half thousand acres. I loved every minute of it. I got plenty of exercise, fresh air and sometimes got to drive a quad! We went through fields and forests and hit branches of trees and bushes to flush up pheasants, woodcocks, hens and rabbits. We got paid thirty euro for working from six thirty am to seven thirty pm. The day ended at seven thirty then we went for something to eat.
When we got home I changed and watched a film with my Granddad. Then I got into a big cosy armchair and fell fast asleep until my nanny came in from work and woke me up.
