Energy Workshop

Energy Workshop

On Wednesday 17 of November our class went to the Waterford City library to an Energy Workshop.

Ben was the French person who spoke to us about energy and ways to save energy. After that we played an Energy Game, where if you step on a red square you get asked a question if you get the question wrong you go to the sin bin, if you get it right you get an energy point. After that we did some experiments. One experiment was balloons were selling taped to a rope, when we let them go they flew along the rope. Also we put water and tablets in small bottles, we shook them then left them for 10 seconds then the water and tablets exploded, and sent the bottle cap flying through the air.

I enjoyed learning about energy because some of it was new to me and everyone else. I also enjoyed playing the game about energy but most of all the science experiments were really fun and enjoyable.

We learned that some energy is renewable and some is not. Peat, coal and oil are not renewable. Water, solar energy and wind energy are renewable. Carpool instead of going on your own or walk it’s much better for you and the environment.
