Scoil Lorcáin 3-5, St. Declans 2-1
Scoil Lorcáin travelled to De la Salle College to play St. Declans in the first round of the U’13 School Hurling last Thurs.  Scoil Lorcáin started brightly and were soon into the lead with points from Austin Gleeson and Aaron Kennedy.  A further save followed from David Richardson before St. Declans drew level with a soft goal.  However Scoil Lorcáin regained the lead just before ½ time with a point from Darragh Flynn.

In the 2nd half Scoil Lorcáin continued to have the upper hand and David Richardson shot over his second point.  St. Declans came back and scored 1-1 without reply.  However Scoil Lorcáin put in a storming finish and goals from Shane O Donovan, Trevor Power and Austin Gleeson left the final score Scoil Lorcáin 3-5, St. Declans 2-1.

Scoil Lorcáin entertained Ballygunner in the 2nd round of U’13 last week.  This game turned out to be a game of 2 halves with the strong wind having a big bearing on the game.  Playing with the wind, Scoil Lorcáin were soon on top and scored 2 early goals through Shane o Donovan and Darragh Flynn.  Aaron Kennedy then scored 2 points and just before ½ time Trevor Power scored his first goal.  Half time Scoil Lorcáin 3-3 Ballygunner 0-3.

Ballygunner came storming into the game and dominated the early part of the 2nd half.  Scoil Lorcáin defence was under sever pressure and conceded 4 goals and 2 points without reply.  However Scoil Lorcáin rallied and came back into the game with a Trevor Power goal and a point from Darragh Flynn. Ballygunner then scored 1-1 to leave them 4 points in front with 3 minutes to play.  Austin Gleeson shot over a fine point from a free and with seconds left Trevor Power broke through to score his 3rd goal and level the game.
Congrats to both teams for a wonderful game of Hurling.
